WELCOME
You remember our legendary Castle Camp in Italy. A millennium-old building full of history, nestled within the serene and picturesque Italian countryside. Beautiful and quiet rooms with views of the valley. Private chefs preparing gourmet feasts thrice a day, lengthy dinners filled with enriching conversations and peaceful strolls along the ancient forest trails.
Well, this is going to be nothing like that. Think more in direction of dirty music festival, horrendous hangovers and dancing until the break of dawn. The concept is straight forward: For our 100th camp, we want to spend 100,000 euros on a party and see what happens!
We’ve hosted some crazy parties before, but Camp 100 will for sure top them all. By default it will be a one-off event, because we’re never going to be invited back again after this is over.
Hope to see you there.
ONE HUNDRED BJJ GLOBETROTTERS CAMPS
Since we accidentally stumbled over the idea of inviting people to our academy in Copenhagen back in 2012, we never imagined that it would grow into what is has become. A world wide group of more than 10,000 friends who have been enjoying Jiu Jitsu themed holidays together in all sorts of exciting locations around the world. From the desert of Arizona, the jungles of El Salvador, volcanoes of Iceland and beaches of the Caribbean to castles in Italy, ice cold waters of Greenland and beautiful medieval towns around Europe.
It’s been a wild ride and now we’re approaching the biggest milestone of them all: One hundred camps.

LOCATION
Our original Castle Camps in Italy were some of our most sought-after and popular camps ever. But after several years of wonderful experiences there, it was time to move on and make room for other camps in our busy programme.
However, for one week and one week only, we will be making a return to the beautiful old monastery nestled in the hills of Umbria. This time, we’re accommodating many more people, albeit in a slightly different setting than before.
Once again, we have the entire castle to ourselves. The main residence with its stunning views out over the valley will host around half of the campers while the rest will be camping in the large gardens. The terrace will be equipped with benches and tables for communal dining, and we’ll install a stage and a bar next to the 22-meter open-air swimming pool to host live music, comedy, parties, and other events from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.
We’ll also construct some chill-out areas with hammocks and other lounge furniture, so you can enjoy those much-needed naps and breaks in between all the activities we have planned.
ACCOMMODATION
The castle can accommodate plenty of people in its many wonderful apartments. However, we plan on squeezing in a few more than they originally intended, so it’s gonna be a bit of a mess there with a mix of beds, sofa beds and inflatable mattresses on the floor. Couples (or anyone else insisting on sharing a bed) can get some of the big king size beds. It’ll be cozy for sure!!
Each apartment will host approximately 4-8 individuals and features shared showers and bathrooms. We also have outdoor showers by the pool.
While we plan on absolutely stuffing the castle with campers, it’s still not enough room for all of us. But fear not, because nothing screams true festival experience like waking up in a tent with a hangover! The gardens around the castle are usually calm and quiet, but we’ll fix that by turning them into a big, fun tent camp. The weather this time of year in Italy is typically very warm and dry so we are sure this will be a great time for those who want to go all-in on this event.
You’re welcome to bring your own tent or—for a reasonable price—we can make sure a tent and inflatable mattress is waiting for you when you arrive. Yours to keep post-camp, of course!
For those residing in the tents, indoor showers and restrooms in a castle room will be accessible, in addition to portable toilets stationed around the area.
If you prefer to bring your own campervan, limited spaces are available. For more information, refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section at the end of this page.
FOOD
While this may not entirely match the five-star gourmet experience like the past camps we’ve hosted at this location, we’re still making sure that you will get plenty of good food to keep you going throughout the week.
On the large terrace in front of the castle, we’ll serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The exact menu will be determined closer to the camp, but we’re planning on having a barbecue as well as of course pizzas and pasta, freshly made by our local chefs. Fruits and snacks will also be provided during the day.
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU TRAINING
Let’s just say that this camp might not be the most Jiu Jitsu-intensive camp we’ve ever done. That said, we’ll be setting up a nice outdoor mat space where a few of our most seasoned camp coaches will conduct daily classes and open mats. It’s in a beautiful corner of the castle grounds with amazing views of the surrounding hills.
With very limited class time for this camp, it was difficult to figure out which of our many amazing coaches to invite. Ultimately, we decided that the best solution was to pick those who have done most camps in total.
We aim to schedule around five hours of training daily, but if you’re up for more, the mats will always be available for use, day or night!
MORNING YOGA
Yeah we’ll move the yoga for this camp to a little bit later in the day.
PARTIES
If there was ever a reason to celebrate, it would be if you’ve completed 100 camps, and we’re planning on turning this party up to 11!
We’ve rented a stage, lots of lights, and a killer sound system to make sure that we have everything needed to throw some wild parties. More than anything, this camp will be a festival. We’ll be utilizing and decorating the different areas of the castle for daily themed parties: by the pool, on the terrace with the magnificent views, in the medieval courtyard and—of course—we’ll have a banging TECHNOBUNKER party in our private, 1000-year-old church.
An all-day bar with very fair prices will be set up next to the pool so you can always get yourself a fancy cocktail or just the usual 100 Minttu shots. A mix of professional bartenders and camp participants will be behind the bar and all profits go towards funding the party.
This will not be an experience for the faint-hearted. Bring your best party outfits and accessories for this one. The more creative, the better!
A CONTRIBUTION PARTY
Camp 100 will be a little bit different from what we usually do. We will be pumping every single euro from the ticket sales (and then some) back into this, but if we are to host the craziest, most ambitious experience in the history of our camps, we are going to need some help from you, the participants. Although you can trust that we will work day and night on this, we don’t have the resources, ideas, or skills to do this once-in-a-lifetime experience on our own.
So, while there will be some tickets available for general public sale, a large part of the ticket sales will be reserved for those who would like to contribute to the event in one way or the other. Think of it like a potluck, but instead of bringing food, you bring ideas, a bit of practical help, or some sort of entertainment.
(You’ll still have to pay for your ticket like the rest of us so we can all scrape together the €100,000 it takes to pull this crazy idea off)
- Are you a pyrotechnics professional, or do you just have a bunch of old fireworks lying around that you can bring?
- Can you throw an awesome DJ set for a party, a breakfast, or a party breakfast?
- Do you know everything there is to know about covering a castle in laser lights?
- Are you a leading expert in jousting and can bring lances?
