Who we are

This website and the BJJ Globetrotters camps are operated by Globetrotters Sports ApS, a company registered in Denmark (“we”, “us”). We organise Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training camps and run the online shop and services at bjjglobetrotters.com. Globetrotters Sports ApS is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

  • Booking and order details — your name, email address, mobile phone number, billing and delivery address, and what you ordered.
  • Payment information — handled directly by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Camp participation details — the information you give us for a camp, such as accommodation choice, room preferences, dietary requirements and emergency contact.
  • Email and SMS subscriptions — your email address and, where you have given consent, your mobile number.
  • Website usage — pages visited and similar analytics data, collected through cookies (see Cookies below).

Mobile numbers and text messages (SMS)

We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers, or the consent you give to receive text messages, with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing purposes. Mobile numbers collected for our text programme are used only by us, to send you the messages described below.

  • What you will receive: messages about camps you have booked or asked about — booking confirmations, practical camp information, waiting-list availability and occasional camp announcements.
  • Message frequency: message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard charges for messages and data apply; we do not charge you for the messages themselves.
  • To stop: reply STOP to any message and you will receive no further texts from us.
  • For help: reply HELP to any message, or email [email protected].
  • Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of buying anything from us.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Why we use your information

  • To take and fulfil your booking or order, and to run the camp you are attending — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To send you service messages about a booking you have made.
  • To send you marketing email or text messages, where you have given us consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and working, and to understand how it is used — our legitimate interest in running the site.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we need in order to operate, and only for that purpose:

  • Payments — Stripe, PayPal and Revolut process card and other payments.
  • Email — GetResponse and Mailgun send our newsletters and service emails.
  • Website and analytics — Cloudflare (site delivery and security), Google Analytics, and Meta/Facebook (advertising measurement). YouTube serves embedded videos.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies to keep the shop working (for example your basket), to measure how the site is used through Google Analytics, and for advertising measurement through the Meta pixel. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some parts of the shop will not work correctly if you do.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and order records for as long as needed to run the camp and to satisfy accounting and tax rules. Newsletter and SMS subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

International transfers

Some of the providers above are based outside the EU/EEA. Where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, it is protected by the safeguards those providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email [email protected] and we will respond. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
